PGDBA Conclave Trilytics

PGDBA Conclave – Trilytics is a pioneer, first-of-its-kind tri-institute flagship analytics summit of India organised by the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) program students. PGDBA is jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur, and ISI Kolkata and the program helps shape the emerging profession of business analytics by delivering a cutting edge inter disciplinary educational experience to graduate applicants with an aspiration of building a career in the field of Business Analytics.

PGDBA Conclave – Trilytics spans two months, conducting analytics case competitions on mind-bending real-world business problems, key-note sessions from leading industry experts, panel discussions, debate and workshops on state-of-the-art technologies.

The top-performing teams among all the contestants will have an opportunity to win handsome rewards, including cash prizes, while the participating industry partners will rendezvous with future leaders of India and the world.

In 2022, the inaugural edition of Trilytics had a tremendous response across the globe, with its case competition receiving a registration count of over 2600 and 1.7 lakh+ views on Unstop (D2C). The event also had keynote sessions by two prominent industry leaders – Mr Arindam Chatterjee and Mr. Trideb Mukherjee.

TRILYTICS 2022

Trilytics is a first-of-its-kind tri-institute analytics summit organized by the students of the PGDBA. The vision of Trilytics – PGDBA Conclave is to be a globally recognized summit dedicated to bringing students and industry leaders together to encourage and promote a multidisciplinary approach to the constantly evolving field of Business Analytics.

This year’s inaugural edition was sponsored by Trinity Life Sciences and comprised 2 events – a business analytics case competition & keynote sessions by industry experts.

The case competition was launched on May 27th, 2022, and had a tremendous response across the globe, with a registration count of over 2600 and 1.7 lakh+ views on Unstop. The final presentation round for the analytics case competition was held on July 12th, 2022, where the top teams from the earlier round presented their works to the judging panel from Trinity life sciences.

The top-performing teams among the contestants were awarded generous cash rewards and an opportunity for Pre-Placement interviews with Trinity Life Sciences. At the same time, the participating industry partners got to witness the technical prowess of the students who could become domain leaders and pioneers of the future.

The keynote session included two esteemed industry experts.The first keynote speaker, Mr. Arindam Chatterjee, Lead Vice President, HSBC, is an alumnus of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) and has 15+ years of experience in several dominant MNCs of the BFSI industry. He delivered his speech on Applications of Machine Learning in Banking and how it creates value for banks and customers.

The second speaker, Mr. Tridib Mukherjee, Vice President and Head of AI & Data Science at Games24x7 Private Limited, is a PhD graduate in CSE from Arizona State University. He co-authored a book from Cambridge University Press and has published 50+ papers in reputed journals and conferences with 1000+ citations. He led the Platforms, Tools, and Technologies research group as Director and Senior Scientist in Conduent Labs India.

He delivered a speech on Demystifying Data for User 360 in Scientific Products. He also provided his visionary insights into how customer-centricity and data analytics drive business decisions in the gaming industry.

Earlier during the event held on July 3, Prof. Uttam Sarkar, Director of IIM Calcutta delivered a speech on how the PGDBA program was born many years ago after multiple interactions among the three parent institutes. He also spoke about the importance of industry exposure in grooming students to be future-ready for advancing the domain of business analytics.

Prof. Achutha Naikan, Dean of VGSOM IIT Kharagpur, shared what it was like to be associated with the PGDBA program since its inception. He expressed his sheer delight in witnessing the inaugural PGDBA conclave and shared his invaluable vision for the PGDBA conclave in the coming years.

Prof. Samit Paul, the PGDBA Chairperson at IIM Calcutta, expounded on how PGDBA students will continue to have growing opportunities in the industry and shared his vision for the future editions of Trilytics. He also expressed his gratitude to Trinity, our respected dignitaries, and the keynote speakers from the industry for having joined the event.
