EdLEAP: Education Leaders' Programme

Leadership learning is not only informed by theory but also experiential. The EdLEAP programme, through a mix of theory and practice, will help the top brass of school:

• develop their understanding of leadership through contemporary practices in management and business leadership
• discover how to manage change and build agility within the institution
• explore and encourage the characteristics of a high-performance environment
• improve learning outcomes in their schools through effective management
• apply the foundations of effective leadership skills to everyday challenges faced by leaders in the milieu of school education.
• evaluate leadership learnings & review priorities for professional development

The programme is open for the top educators (principals and administrators) belonging to elementary, secondary and senior secondary levels of education across the country. This programme can also be taken up by senior teachers, with a minimum of ten years of experience, aspiring to be school leaders in future. This programme is also open to entrepreneurs in the education space and executives of EdTech firms.

• Graduates (10+2+3) / Post Graduate in any discipline recognized by UGC/AICTE with a minimum of 50% marks in graduation / post graduation.
• For entrepreneurs, executives, directors and administrators in the education space, a minimum 10 years of work experience (full-time employment) is desirable.
• In the case of principals and senior teachers a minimum of 10 years of experience is desirable.
• All the experience will be calculated in the period after graduation to the day of programme start date. In case of exception, candidate will submit SOP for approval from the programme directors.

The duration of the programme is nine months. Programme will be delivered through the Direct to Device (D2D) mode once a week (Sunday 10.00 am – 1.00 pm). There will be an on-campus module towards the end of the programme.
Campus immersion: Two campus visit of 4 days each. The campus module will be conducted subject to the evolving pandemic situation and will depend on Government and Institute policies related to the same.

Programme Fee: Rs. 3,10,000 + (Applicable taxes)

The pedagogy will be a combination of lectures, case studies and workshops. In addition, peer learning will be facilitated through lounge sessions.

The programme content as spread over the four modules is detailed below

Module A: Leadership Foundations

This module is designed to develop the foundations for management and leadership skills which are so critical for organizational success. The participants will be exposed to an assortment of various elements critical to a well-rounded exposure on leadership & business administration. This module will provide the education leaders with the fundamentals of best practice in leadership and provide tools and frameworks to help them acquire those skills. This module will involve sessions on the following topics

• Business Economics
• Leadership Style and Vision: Theory & Practice
• Financial Statement Analysis, Budgeting and Risk Management
• Human Resource Management, Recruitment & Development
• Project Management and Operations
• Marketing Management

Module B: Competitive Advantage

In this module, the participants will move on to the next phase of leadership by learning how to create a strategic and competitive advantage. This programme provides comprehensive coverage to develop skillset required for education leaders to lead effectively. These sessions are expected to consolidate the leadership approaches and bring profound changes to continuing professional development for school leaders. This module will involve sessions on the following topics

• Strategic Thinking for Turbulent Times
• Digital Marketing
• Business Analytics for Growth
• Communication and Persuasion
• Conflict and Crisis Management
• Organisational Culture
• Advanced Concepts in Operations

Module C: Creating World Class Institutions

This module will help in identifying and responding to the rapidly changing dynamics of school education towards creating world class institutions of learning. The sessions in this module will prepare the top brass in school for navigating the next phase of growth in educational institutes. It will engage the participants on the following themes:

• Leading Change and Innovation
• Managing Brand Identity, Image and Sustaining Reputation
• Educational Leadership in times of Uncertainty & Complexity
• Diversity Management in Education Sector

Module D: Leadership Dialogue

This module will focus on the meta-goals of leadership and management in education sector by including an engaging discussion on topics related to entrepreneurship, technology, behavioral biases & expectations, ethics and sustainability. These sessions will provide the participants a forum to introduce their experiences to the cohort as well as the challenges they are currently facing. The participants will be encouraged to contextualize their learning through case scenarios, reflections on their own area of practice and activities designed to promote effective leadership perspectives. These sessions are expected to be along the following themes:

• Design Thinking for School Leaders
• Entrepreneurship and Technology in Education
• Business Values and Ethics for School Leaders
• National Education Policy (NEP)
